Salut! (That's French for 'hi', eh? ^^)

Je suis Daphne, et je suis Hollandais! And I'm sorry to tell you people that was quite about all the French stuff I know how to say. You've got that right, I'm a fan of Manau, but I cannot pronounce or understand a single word in French. Hope you don't mind! I'm a big nut weirdo, I know. It's not my fault much, I never got any French at school. Proud to say I speak English properly, though there are plenty of words I don't know, too many to run a real conversation, actually.

So! Manau. You can say they are the reason I'm more driven than I probably ever would have been to learn speaking French. Now if I only knew how. My fanship started with, of course, la Tribu de Dana. Oh my God, I saw that video, and it just amazed me. I drooled away. By everything: the song, the video, the boys. My mum pointed me at Alan Stivell immiddeatly when she found out I was so fond of it, but I've listened to it, and the guy sings like a Turkey. At least Manau made something stunning of that song, the rap just took my breath, and as I fell deeply in love with the melody, I had to be careful not to fall in love with it's singers too. Wink

I started downloading stuff and that's how I discovered the album Panique Celtique. I was so suprised. Not just by the music, but also by finding myself actually lóving it. My main taste of music is pro-rock, like a few of my all-time-favourite bands are Muse, (wícked) Incubus, The Killers, Tenacious D, Wolfmother, and all that kinds of great stuff. I didn't expect I would ever get madly fond of anything like celtic-rap, or how on earth you want to call it.

And now, now I love Manau still so much they make me drool or happy in a way no group really can. Manau is wicked! <33 (I've translated most of their lyrics to understand, of course. They're lovely, I mean it.)

I don't think I'll be round here much, for the simple reason I'm unable to understand all this French. Unfair, would love to chat with you.

Welcome on board !! I understand you can love Manau so much, here we're all fond of them too !! How could somebody not love them by the way ?? Embarassed

They have done so nice things, and if you have listened on ly Panique Celtique, I can tell you there are 2 more cds, Fest Noz de Paname and On peut tous rêver (We cal all dream, in English Very Happy

) The group has been doing concerts for almost a year now I think and it's a success, so they are preparing a fourth cd ! We can't wait for it !

It's nice to see that you were conquered only by the music, as you didn't understand the lyrics ! It shows how great they are !!

Hey thanks. ^^ Thanks for giving the names of their other albums too, I knew they had more, but never really heard much about them. After all Manau isn't that known by many people in the Nederlands, but as soon as I start to sing la Tribu de Dana, they all got the picture of who I'm talking about. It's the only hit they had over here, so with that Panique Celtique is the only noticed album.

The fact I didn't know what the heck the lyrics were about at first, didn't bother me a thing. Understand why? Cool

I could give my own meaning to the sounds, whatever my mood was in, it always fitted. Just flow my feelings with the sound, whether I was sad or happy, carefree, desperate, even angry. Words aren't always important for their meaning in music, they're important for their sound. It's thát sound, on thát moment, that makes you go: woooaww, and thát's music.
